WHY PRO DOG WALKER DON'T RECOMMEND “CHOKE” DOG COLLARS

A dog collar is essential when you have a dog. With the collar, you can attach your furry friend's identification that is valuable for its own protection. It is one of the requirements of the law that dogs in public must wear a collar.

A dog collar is useful for control and provides a handle for grabbing. But dogs differ in sizes and training.

WALKING THE DOG

Indeed it is quite a challenging task to control a hyperactive and untrained dog. Dogs without proper training are most likely pull their guardians or walkers around when they are taken for a walk. That will not be a problem will small breeds because the weight of the walker obviously exceeds their own.

COLLAR THAT CONTROLS

Man is the master of creation, and we have come up with various devices to stop an overly excited dog from pulling and gain control over them. And here comes the choke collars that indeed keep a dog from doing what it wants.

The walker would jerk the leash, and the choking collar will act in such a way that the dog, experiencing pain will stop and behave. But not because this works we are getting the result we desire.

EFFECT OF JERKING IN THE DOG'S BEHAVIOR

Dogs are by nature curious. It may come near a man or object. The dog walker or trainer, not wanting to cause any trouble would jerk the leash giving the dog an instant painful halt. But this creates an unpleasant memory effect on the dog's brain. With constant repetition, this may cause the dog anxiety when it's around people.

EFFECT ON THE DOG'S INTERNAL ORGANS

All the body needs and impulses pass through the dog's neck. Within the neck is the cervical spine that contains nerves that are controlling the internal organs. The thyroid glands that regulate the metabolism of the dog is located at the neck.

It has been observed that there is an evident relationship between the health of dogs and their sustained neck injury. Having severe congestion of energy in the neck is attributed to dog's having higher cancer rates. This jerking may cause dogs lameness, skin allergies, lung, and heart problem.

THE SOLUTION
There is no shortcut to training and controlling our four-legged friend. There are other ways to manage and restrain our dogs. Man is continuously inventing devices that are dog-friendly. In doing so, not only will we prolong their life but also give us a companionship that just these furry friend can provide.
